"The truth of the matter
is that rock is boring. It's so boring, in fact, that I would
rather sell 1,000 records in total than be lumped in with the
cookie cutter modern rock acts of today. I'm sure there will
come a time when a great and mighty band will emerge and set
the world's imaginations on fire again (or until Radiohead releases
a new record). And hell, I'm all for it. But until then I would
prefer to do something that doesn't concern itself entirely
with presenting people with the musical path of least resistance
and questing for the relentlessly coveted grail of hit making.
That's always been a dead end street for any artist, and is
doubly so in a day and age where artists are no longer developed
or encouraged to do anything that might wander off the over
used and over beaten path."-Matthew Good
